The Difference of a Touch Screen EPOS with a Normal EPOS
The POS is an essential part of any retail store business. If you sell various products in a store, the POS is the one responsible for completing and recording each transaction that happens inside that store. It tells you which items are sold and how much of that specific item is sold. You can also use these records to check on the sales patterns of your consumers. A POS basically allows you and your store to manage day to day operations especially in the area which involves sales and inventory.
As we have seen in the previous years until today, everything always changes. A version of this and that is reinvented and improved. The same thing goes for the POS. It started with manual handwritten receipts then the simple cash register then a digital cash register to the POS to the EPOS. With each innovation, something is of course, improved and added which makes the newer version better than its predecessor. Now we have the latest in EPOS technology which is the touch screen EPOS. So, what makes this EPOS different from the normal EPOS?
The touch screen EPOS uses the technology of touch screen which means that unlike the conventional EPOS, you only now have one equipment on your counter. It has eliminated the need for the keyboard and the mouse which takes up a lot of space in your counter area. This is the most obvious difference that you will immediately notice between the two EPOS.
The next set of improvements will be seen in the interface of the touch screen EPOS. Since it is touch screen, all you need to do is touch the screen using your finger to click on the icon that you wish to see or use. So, your finger basically replaced the mouse. As for the keyboard, the touch screen EPOS has an intelligent interface that detects when you need the keyboard or the numeric keypad. When it senses that you need it to type something in, a virtual keyboard or numeric keypad will appear on the screen. Again, all you need to do is use your fingertips to type in the numbers or letters. Of course, this is not the only provision or innovation added. Most of today’s EPOS systems, including the touch screen are also web based. This means that it utilizes the use of the internet for software updates, program updates, stock updates and also allows you to view the store’s sales and inventory updates in real-time from anywhere and at any given time.
These differences are what make the touch screen epos more advantageous to one’s business more than the normal EPOS.
