Pre-Market Trading for Tuesday – U.S. Stock Futures – Wall St. Sunrise
LONDON (Dow Jones)–European stocks fell at the open Tuesday, with traders, already nervous about the forthcoming U.S. earnings season, taking their cue from lower U.S. stock-index futures.
London’s FTSE 100 index was down 0.9% at 5622.86 at 0750 GMT. Frankfurt’s DAX declined 0.7% to 6265.80, while Paris’s CAC-40 index fell 1.1% to 3727.13. The Stoxx Europe 600 index dropped 0.8% to 261.17.
At the same time, the December Dow Jones Industrial Average futures contract was down 0.6% at 10,899 and the S&P 500 futures contract for the same month was 0.7% lower at 1154.10.
Investors were looking ahead to the publication of the minutes of the last meeting of the U.S. Federal Open Market Committee at 1800 GMT and trading has been based on speculation as to the contents of those minutes.
