I’m start learning the DAX. I wondering why the percentage last night close is different from the next day morning.
Because the stock market is a kind of an auction where the buyers and the sellers are free to agree on any price they want.
People can change their minds about the prices they are willing to pay during the trading day and when the market is closed too.
But the more time they have to think about it, the more they can change their minds about how much to pay and how much to ask for.
That’s why overnight, the opening price quite often is a lot higher or lower than the closing price from the previous trading day.
