Michigan Chevrolet Dealers Stock the Consumer Reports Top Pick: Chevrolet Avalanche
Michigan Chevrolet dealers will be pleased to know one of the vehicles in their showrooms has been named top pickup truck by Consumer Reports magazine. The Chevrolet Avalanche was named the best in the pickup truck category because of qualities such as easily adjustable cargo adaptability, smooth ride and family friendly features.
Michigan Chevrolet dealers already know just how versatile a hauler the Avalanche is and their customers now know the Avalanche has the backing of the Consumer Reports seal of approval. The functionality of the Chevy Avalanche is especially noticeable in its single body structure which allows for storage of longer items. The Avalanche truck bed is fully integrated with the truck’s cabin, and longer items can enter the cabin from the truck bed through the fold down seats and fold down passageway—the Midgate—allowing the item to pass through the cabin.
The Midgate also enables the Avalanche to seat five or six passengers, or convert to a full-size pickup truck.
Additional storage flexibility is the removable rear window permitting hauling of bulkier items. Consumer Reports also praised the extra storage bins available on either side of the pickup bed as well as the waterproof three-piece truck bed cover.
Other benefits stated in the review include calling the ride “terrific” and remarking how easy it was to handle situations requiring four-wheel drive because that drive option can remain on at all times while driving; no switching mid-ride or wondering if four-wheel drive is on or off.
The Avalanche is also available with a larger V8 engine for those who want more power and a rearview camera to add more safety and sight out the rear of the truck. As for fuel efficiency, though the video report didn’t mention it, the Avalanche is flexfuel compatible and has active fuel management technology. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is 21 miles per gallon highway. This makes the Avalanche a powerful car as well as fuel efficient that can help out most customers looking for that combination.
